google Street view on an ipad

I used google street view on my pc a lot, researching holidays
As you know you can "walk" along streets as if you are actualy there. Brilliant
Then my pc went into "lite mode" but by using Mozilla Fire fox I could still use street view.
Now I have an I pad, I've instaled the street view app but I find the old way where I used to drag the little yellow man onto the blue streets, doesn't exist and I just get a series of stills
Am I doing something wrong?

I find the yellow man is there using Google Earth but not on Google Maps....

I love Google maps, especially when I'm outside Spain and have no 4G

I download the city or area I'm going to and I can use it as a sat nav offline .

Richard - can you clarify: are you using Google Earth or Google Maps? I just checked and can walk the streets in the former but not the latter - on iPadAir2.

If there is any similarity to how the programmes function on Android, in Google Earth I can walk along in street but in Google Maps my version of Android is too old to support the feature so maybe you have an OS problem?

Only thing you can't do is rotate the camera

Richard, top left hand corner is the wheel to move the camera. I just used it and it worked fine.

I can see the yellow toggle to hide the left hand panel so you can see more of the map but I can't see the wheel to rotate the camera

Sorted... Can't see the wheel, but if you swipe the screen with your finger it rotates the view
