BTW, the "Product ID" you see there is not the license code, it is not visible on the machine as it is encoded but can be hooked out with a special key finding programme e.g. Productkey.vbs or tap in the search code yourself.

The license key may (read should for cosher) be on a matallic sticker somewhere on the machine or with the paperwork that came with it.

I went along today and I asked him if it was a counterfeit and he told me it was and he has "sorted" my computer out and hey presto, I have "Windows"! :wtf: So for now I am OK and no Enrique there is no back up for it. Still onwards and upwards

Hi patricia,
The only problem is when MS update their License DB and remove the Hacked Keys. Guess you'll have to pay him another visit then.

Seems quite common practice in Spain with these one man bands..............

Yes I will have to pay him another visit if and when. But thank you for your help. I would not have thought that it was a counterfeit if you hadnt told me, although Windows kept telling me it was counterfeit.

I suppose in the end I will have to update to windows 10!
