Safari not working properly after update
Safari not working properly after update
I updated my iPad to iOS 9.3 this afternoon and now Safari isnt working properly. I can select mailboxes and messages in hotmail, but when I go to any website and try to click on a link nothing happens eg I went to pricerunner, searched for a vacuum cleaner (this all worked ok) but when I try to click on one of the vacuums showing, nothing happens. This happens on all websites. I've tried turning off and back on again. Any ideas please?

Hi yes there's a bug with it. I have postponed the update. Google it and you'll see a lot about it. Not good I'm afraid.

Hi alisonb,
If the workarounds in this link don't work for you, revert to 9.2.1................

No problems here on three devices. Moral is, use Chrome - Safari is rubbish. The only problem is that you are forced to use Safari to use external links. I usually copy the link into Chrome.

OH's iPad mini hasn't got a problem either. I've temporarily reverted to Chrome, but it's a pain when you've got used to one browser. I'm sure there's a simple way but how do you search for something on a page in chrome? - iPad equivalent of control f.

Re: Safari not working properly after update
Hi, Alisonb, just had the same tried everything with help from a friend but there was no way round the prob. In the end gave up as I was getting no joy from Apple. So I did a factory reset. Everything perfect now. I know you are quite techie so it shouldn't be a prob. Just make sure everything is backed up.

Re: Safari not working properly after update
I read an article(can't find it now) which said that the problem was the Booking.com app and saying to uninstall it. If you have it might be worth a go.
Re: Safari not working properly after update
My iPad 2 was updated, Safari links didn't work, then after a couple of days e-mail links froze.
Been reading lots of forums and supposed fixes, but decided to wait for fix.
Switched to Mercury browser and everything working.
Hopefully new update fix in the pipeline.

Re: Safari not working properly after update
Patch fix has now been released.
On iPad, go to settings, general, then click software updates
9.3.1. will show, download, install, then hurray, you're fixed!
