Postby curatokid » Thu Jul 07, 2016 7:30 am

I have a Movistar landline and Internet and it has been suggested that I should change to BT as they offer a good service and costs less, does anyone have any experience of BT ? any comments would be appreciated....

If its half as good as BT in the UK I would go for it. You may want to check they are not just an agent for a Spanish company though.

Hi curatokid,
From the info I have there are Distributors using the BT name.

Are they using their own Infrastructure, if not and using Movistar "wires" then that brings in a grey area if Faults develop.

Is the saving worth the hassle if things are working well at the moment................. :?:

It maybe a Challenge terminating your current contract ......see recent Thread....................

I wouldn't risk it. As Enrique says, anyone using the BT name and logo (probably illegally) are simply agents / distributors who are probably using one of the big suppliers' networks, and when (if) problems develop, won't be able to do a damned thing to help you. I would stick to the main Spanish providers - Movistar, Orange, Vodafone etc.

And, in my humble, movistar have moved on in leaps and bounds. If I ever have a problem they are on it pronto.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I eventually moved from Movistar as, being in the Campo, they could not offer the ADSL speed I needed. Apart from that they were always excellent to deal with and the transfer to a new ISP was handled really well.

I would stick with Movistar especially if you want quality super high speed internet. If available where you are and you go for one of the 300mbs fibre packages thats exactly what you get 300+mbs. Not like it used to be...contracted for 10mbs and get 7-8 mbs if you're lucky.

Thanks for all the comments much appreciated, I think I will be sticking, I can not get fibre where I live and all Movistar offers are based on that so I will have to wait for another one to come around....Better the devil, as they say !!!
