Re: KODI
I'm not a regular kodi user but I do have it installed on my Fire TV box as a standby should everything else fall on its sword.
Don't know if this applies to you but I just opened the kodi app and it said I had to update to 17.1, which I have done following the instructions in the link below, and reinstalled the add-ons all is working OK now, new interface etc but all working.

Re: KODI
Similar to you NorthandSouth just very occasional use mainly for the exceptional BBC1 HD stream on the Freeview app. As above mine was working normally but I went and checked the build which turned out to be 15.1 so over two yrs old. So have just updated it to 17.1 and all working as before albeit with a new interface as you said.

Re: KODI
I upgraded my firestick from Javis 16.1 to Krypton 17.1 via downloader apps. All my addons previously on Javis still working after upgraded.
I suggested you update your firestick first via firestick setting then search for downloader app. Open Downloader app after installing then download the krypton 17.1 to install Kodi latest release.

Re: KODI
I upgraded from 15.1 to 17.1 yesterday and the link that NorthandSouth posed above is pretty much an accurate reflection of what I did.
You say install BACK on to your Firestick So assume you already had it on your Firestick at some stage? Is it still there visible or lurking in your apps within settings. But if there is no sign of it anywhere have a look at the link below

Re: KODI
Be careful with downloading criminal add-ons into KODI. The problem being that you have no idea what it is stealing from your devices or networks. Criminals are what they are - they don't provide "free" downloads - if it is free, YOU are the product!

I don't know what you are reading but to me he defines criminal add-ons, not all add-onsHarryJ wrote:Bit of a wide ranging statement branding all developers of Add-ons under the Kodi platform as criminalsWhite Horse wrote:Be careful with downloading criminal add-ons into KODI. Watching films and EPL is illegal without subscribing.
Re: KODI
Well, it might be, but I didn't actually say that, did I? I was just warning that anyone using add-ons written by criminals to steal copyright licensed programming are putting themselves at risk.HarryJ wrote:

So, be warned!
Re: KODI
Mark, What exactly is a criminal add-on?
You go on to say "Watching films and EPL is illegal without subscribing". So do you consider yourself a "Criminal" by using Kodi then?
BTW Your statement is totally false and inaccurate
