Using Whatsapp on my Samsung phone.

Someone wants my to install Whatsapp on my phone so we can communicate when I'm in Spain. Apparently she always has her phone on silent. I'm not very hi tech, so could someone please explain what I have to do.

It's quite easy.
Go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... m.whatsapp and install it on your phone.
Open Whatsapp tap on the icon in the bottom right hand corner, assuming her phone number is stored in your phone, select your friends phone number and start messaging.
However if she always has her phone on silent she won't get an audible notification to tell her she has a message.

Gerry ... I had to create a @gmail account, which I did, then it all went to hell in a hand cart. I have somehow installed something called whatsapp tips though

Richard, just get a "young person" to install Whatsapp on your phone. It's easy.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was out last night.
Also sorry I wrongly assumed that you already had a Gmail account and access to Playstore.
Anyway you can now download apps from Playstore.
There are many "how to use Whatsapp" apps on Playstore, you have obviously downloaded one of them.
The one you need is called "WhatsApp Messenger" you can find it via the link I provided earlier.

Have sent my first message.

Hope you enjoy it. Most of my calls and messages are via whatsapp especially for international numbers. My mum and dad in the UK who are both 88 are regular whatsappers keeping in touch with friends and family in the States for nowt.
