3or4g. Routers in shropshire UK

Postby USINSPAIN » Sun Apr 23, 2017 8:33 am

We are going over to ellesmere in Shropshire for a long spell, and where we will be based there is no internet connection without having a telephone line installed which we cannot do. Over here in Spain very impressed with routers 3and 4 g is there anything similar in UK we can use.
Thank you

Short answer is Yes.
3G/4G routers are fairly universal.
The only thing to be aware of is can you get a good3G/4G signal in Ellesmere?
Some parts of Ellesmere are very rural, remote, peaceful and beautiful.
Cheers

We have a 3 service Mifi router. Totally portable and works here in Spain on roaming. Very useful for uk elderly relative visits or accessing the internet inland Spain. Quite reasonable performance but speed does dip when schools finish or at the end of popular tv programmes. Ours is on contract but cant see why it wouldnt work on a payg sim.

You would need to check for a signal before committing to a provider. We are continually shocked at the not spots in the uk - even on the m6 motorway north of Manchester.

Last summer I spent two weeks in the UK. I bought a 'three' sim and a 1 month contract with something like 15 GB for 20 quid. stuck the sim in my phone and used my phone as the router. It worked really well.
