No BBC at all

From about yesterday I cannot access any BBC content, not on my laptop nor through NOWTV box. Even the radio is blocked.

I use smartydns and am in contact with them but they haven't done anything as yet.

Anyone else having this problem, or know of any solution?

Have you checked that the SmartyDNS DNS settings are still in your Router

According to SmartyDNS site there are no issues currently.

I, too, had a problem with SmartyDNS tonight, not just BBC....but all was back to normal again at around 9.15pm.

I can now get radio through NowTV box and TV on the laptop, but he BBC TV isn't working on via NowTV. It hasn't been from some time.

Do not know why that is.

I assume router is OK as ITV etc working OK through NowTV

Been trying to put VPN on laptop but without success.

Have you put the SmartyDNS settings in the laptop Network configuration and Validated from your account ?

Don't assume the SmartyNS settings are in the Router........CHECK !!

If you think you have problems with using/ setting up, SmartyDns, then contact their helpdesk. They are very knowledgeable and helpful about using their product. They don't mind if you are a total thicko, they will talk you through what is necessary.

Yup Gerry Smarty are always very helpful and I will get them to help with VPN when I get round to it.

I'm only using Phones and Tablet currently for UK TV viewing, I just set SmartyDNS to the VPN and use London2.

It works like a dream on BBC iPlayer, ITV hub, All4 and My5.

I was getting problems with Smarty so I changed to my other DNS server which. SmartDNS , which is working perfectly.

I use a vpn Freedome which gives you a free trial. Cheap to buy on ebay e.g. I got 5 annual licences for £25.99 - works on android or laptop. I have no problems with BBC iPlayer , ITV hub etc and it's really easy to use.

Just use SmartDNSProxy. No problems with BBC at all.
