MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
Once again problems with my new Smartphone. It has developed a voice!! I have gone through everything to get rid of it but to no avail.
I have looked at the manual but some things that it tells me to press are not there on my phone!
Can someone please help. Sick of her voice telling what to do or not to do as the case may be on top of that I can only speak in the michrophone to send a message instead of being able to type.
Do not ask me what I pressed or touched to get that. Heeelp............!

Re: MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
This sounds like the dreaded Google Talkback. Have you tried these instructions:

Re: MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
I know it sounds daft but I cannot even see settings. All the apps have disappeared there is just this ruddy female talking whenever I touch or do anything. Heeeeeeeeelp.
When I was able to get in settings, I could not see "talk back" to be able to switch it off!!
My nerves are shattered with all this. I could not even answer the phone this afternoon or phone back!!
What to do next. Is it all worth it!

Re: MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
Try following the second part of the instructions in the link I gave (drawing an L on the screen). I don't think you can easily get to settings with TalkBack activated.

Re: MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
The link which I posted in response to your original request for help is specifically for the Motorola One Macro although presumably it also works for other Android phones. If you have TalkBack already activated you cannot access settings in the normal way.. This it what it says in the link:
Tip: If you have inadvertently enabled Talkback, you can quickly pause it, and then go back to disable this feature.
Anywhere on the screen, swipe down then right in a single motion, as if you were drawing an “L”.
Note: This should work whether the phone is on the lock screen or unlocked.
You will then see 2 options in the top corners of the screen, select “Pause Feedback”.
When the Suspend Talkback message appears, double tap “OK”.
You can now normally go into Settings > Accessibility and disable talkback.

Hello Beach,
I have managed to get into the talk back setting but there is nowhere I can turn it off and disable it. Using the L has not worked. I typed it in search and it came up.

There are some more suggestions in this video:

It seems to have worked for many people in the comments section.

Hello Beach,
That is great. I will give it a go, although I have tried and I just cannot bring up any options at all.
But I will give it another whirl later on and let you know how I get on

Re: MOTOROLA ONE MACRO
Hi patricia,
Please note the following instructions work on a Bq Aquarias Android phone running ver 7.0 OS...........YOURS my differ..........
Nice video Beach..............but if talkback is activated you have to work with the instructions coming from phone.........
We (that's my Support Team) have been working on this today..............
basics....... one (x1)tap to highlight , two taps (x2) to activate.
So off we go.............
press x1 round "home" button, press x2 to activate...........I have Settings on my Home Screen , You will have to scroll down (or type Settings in Search bar) to find Settings.
Settings x1 , x2 to activate..............it will show top options........swipe down listen out for "Controllers" then swipe L to Right until you see Accessibility x1, then x2 .you will now see TalkBack x1 then x2 then toggle to off.
There is probably an easier way.............

Hi patricia,
What have you got on your Laptop that we can chat on..............Skype Zoom etc........
You need to work with "The Voice" and give her time to give options.
Looking at a screenshot of your phone along the Bottom are the Navigation Icons....
left facing Triangle , centre round home screen and right square overview button.
