Phishing website

Postby Wicksey » Sat May 02, 2020 1:05 pm

This seems to only happen on the Telegraph website, whose main page frequently refreshes. Today it keeps being taken over by a webpage that shows in the tab as Telefonica but is in fact something completely different and is being blocked by my Avast security. All the websites have an address ending in .xyz.

I used to always use adwcleaner but I notice it now doesn't include removing hijacking sites in its free program. I have run it and an Avast scan but it still keeps popping up every now and then. I cleared all the cookies yesterday.

Hi Wicksey,

A couple of things to play with...........

1) Download Malwarebytes and run If not already done.

2) Change the DNS for your device to OpenDNS Family........
208.67.222.123
208.67.220.123

And lets know how you get on...........
All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.
