mcafee retail card

Anyone out there who can help me activate a mcafee retail card. My old and trusted 8 year old Acer finally died and yesterday I bought a new Lenovo, I'm having problems downloading the mcafee retail card protection system, I am close to being computer illiterate and tearing my hair out, anyone help.

Any reason to use McAfee retail card protection system over the in built Windows Firewall and Anti-Virus........ :?:
All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.
