I have a Samsung mobile.
Recently I have been getting a popup saying "No Sim Card Inserted " Oddly this does not seem to affect the operation of the phone.
Sometimes I get a notification , running along the top of the "Lock Screen" saying: "No Sim Card..Emergency calls Only". Once again I can still swipe and open the home-screen as normal, and everything works.
When I had the same problem about a year ago; I put an extra bit of tape on the sim card, to improve the contact, which seemed to work.
Could anyone advise please?
Is it perhaps,a problem with the phone or the sim card ?
Thankyou

Re: "No Sim Card"
Usually caused by the Sim card making poor contact.
Take the Sim card out and wipe the contacts with a tissue until they look clean and shiny.
Make sure the Sim card is inserted properly.
Cheers

Cheers Gerry.
I did this last year, when I had a similar problem. I suppose it could need re-cleaning. Will do it.
Thankyou

Hi jonbar.1,
To clean contacts (as in electrical )...........
Use a pencil eraser
100% alcohol would be considered as the ideal material to clean any electronic contacts it evaporates quickly and leave no residue behind.
I use 96% alcohol from Mercadona it's in the beauty section, or the pencil eraser.
Could be a general Samsung problem as I came across this with a Model A.40 . this model is quite flimsy so the SIM can shift about when handling.

Cheers Enrique.
I cleaned it just now with a microfibre cloth. It looked clean enough.I will see how this goes.If the problem re-occurs I will try the alcohol,as you suggest.
I must say: the pencil eraser method sounds interesting!
Thankyou. John.

Hi jonbar.1,
The pencil eraser was used a lot back in the day when Computers where not so reliable due operating in less than ideal conditions.
