Can someone please advise?
In my "Windows Update & Security" section ; the new 20H2 Feature update was available; along with another "cumulative type" update.
The "cumulative Update" installed and asked for a "Restart" which I did.
After the restart I opened "Update & Security" again and noted that the "20H2" option had disappeared. I then checked "view update history" and saw that the "20H2" was listed as "update Failed".
I tried again to do the update. This time, when I returned to "Update & Security" and" View Update History" the "20H2" Failed" had also disappeared.
Now, when I select "check For Updates" it tells me I am up-to-date!
No sign of the "20H2" anywhere
Any help would be appreciated. Sadly, any help will have to be simple enough for a non-tech person like me to grasp.
Thankyou
Windows update 20H2

Re: Windows update 20H2
Hi jonbar.1
Please post error code from the "20H2 Failed message"
At this point just continue to run your current Windows 10 version...........please type Winver in search and Post result.
Don't be concerned about 20H2 update disappearing at this .....it's just a Minor update and the Features listed aren't worth getting excited about.

Re: Windows update 20H2
Thankyou Enrique for your prompt reply.
firstly: the "Failed message " is not there now ( as I explained in my posting).............but good news...
I now think I have the update !
First of all I noticed that I had suddenly got the new-look "Start Menu".
Secondly When I check "WINVER" ( on your advice ) I see that I do have " version 20H2 ( Build 19042 . 610).
It is very odd that the update does not show in the "View Update History"
There was another update today which may have some bearing on this : " 2020-10 Cumulative Update Preview For Windows 10 ( KB 4580364).
Haven't a clue what it is but it seemed to be connected?
I'm not tech savvy but I read somwhere that if I have the last feature update, I only need a sort of update package, not the full "20H2"

Re: Windows update 20H2
Hi jonbar.1
KB 4580364 is and Optional Update and only needs to be installed if you are having problems with the listed issues.
It's a Driver update...........if you scroll down to Optional updates it lists three Intel specific Drivers.
Optional update only need to be installed if you have those Specific Drivers with issues.

Re: Windows update 20H2
Thanks Enrique.
Was it a mistake to install it?
Should I un install it?

Re: Windows update 20H2
Actually Enrique it came under "other Updates " not "Drivers"

Re: Windows update 20H2
thanks Enrique
Nice pic.
I tried it: got as far as uploading it to "postimages" site.........then a complete mental block. Far too complicated for me. I think I'll avoid attachments
Thanks for being so helpful
Cheers John ( jonbar.1 is not my real name !)
