Amazon: Chrome Edge

Postby jonbar.1 » Wed Nov 11, 2020 3:22 pm

Recently, when I open "AMAZON.E.S". in my Edge browser , all the prices are now in $ USD.: not the usual "€"
Everything else is fine : my "Account", "Orders", "Wish List" etc.
Amazon have told me that it is a browser problem, not Amazon.
Can anyone tell me how to get back the Euro-prices please?
( I don't have the same problem if I use "Chrome" or Firefox" )
Thankyou

Hi,
Please clear Cache and Cookies for all Amazon entries...................or everything if you can't find Amazon only entries.

Enrique

Out of interest would Ctrl+FF5 have the same effect or is this browser specific?

Saludos

Thankyou Enrique.
These did not solve the problem.
It's not too urgent since I can open Amazon in "Chrome" & "Firefox" without the currency problem.
HOWEVER....I now have another problem ( because I had cleared all cookies )..when I open my "Outlook Mail" instead of going straight to my "inbox", it takes me to the "sign-in" page. There is no option to "Keep me signed-in".
This, for me, is a more irritating problem than my original "Amazon" issue
Any suggestions on how to stay signed-in ?
Thanks J

Hi jonbar.1,
You needed to be specific when clearing Cookies......if only one site is having an issue then that's the one you delete.

Once going to Outlook Mail it should load the "new" cookie for that site and you will be back as before.

Thanks again Enrique.
Firstly I could find no way of deleting cache & cookies from Amazon only,so I deleted "all".
Secondly: when In I open Outlook mail. I sign-in and have my "inbox" on the screen. However, next time, I have to sign-in again and so on.

Sorry Enrique: forgot to mention:
I only have the sign-in problem with Outlook.
Non of my other sites have the sign-in problem( such as Bank, Movistar, and other sites I use regularly)

Have you got your Amazon.es page set to atomically translate from Spanish into English ? If so, Euros are being translated to Dollars? You will need to go into settings, languages and change settings. However, doing this will stop the page translating. You have to decide if the Euros appearing as dollars is more important to you than seeing Spanish language pages in English.

I decided to a system reset which changed mine back.

Thanks Mark
Oddly enough I have always had Amazon set to "translate" on both "Chrome" & " Edge" and never had a currency problem until the last couple of days. Therefore I cannot see how this setting suddenly has an effect on on the currency  ( I'm not a tech person! )
As it's only "Edge" with the problem, I will simply use "Chrome"( this is also set to "translate" with no problems)"Firefox" or "I.E."
Thanks for the input Mark.

Thanks Enrique.
We learn something new every day
I still have a prob with my outlook mail; When I click on the outlook icon on my task bar, I have to sign-in in order to get to my "Inbox" every time.
There is no option to "Stay signed-in" see attached screenshot ( hopefully!)
Image

I also have shortcut to the Outlook webmail on my desktop which opens directly to the "Inbox" without problem.
I prefer to have my mail access on the taskbar..hence my posting
I have tried to get the webmail shortcut onto the taskbar, without success
Guess I'm just fussy !

Thanks again Enrique.
Already tried the method shown in your link. Sadly, when I right-click the desktop shortcut the drop-down menu has no option to "pin to taskbar"

To update Enrique:
I was able to pin the web shortcut to the taskbar by opening "Settings" in Edge...then "More Tools" then "Pin To Taskbar"
This worked OK....except that when I click on it, it opens again at the "Sign-in page
In other words I can open the link on the Desktop directly to my "inbox", but if I open it from the taskbar....I get the sign-in page.
It's not the end of the world Enrique. I seem to have taken up a lot of everyone's time with this small issue. Maybe I just accept it :silent:
Thankyou
