Google : search list.
Google : search list.
could anyone help please?
When I select the searchbox in Google, I usually get a dropdown list of my recent searches , which I find very useful. ( on the right they have a "X" so that they can be deleted if necessary).
Today I have noticed a new, strange list appearing underneath the "Recents" which I cannot get rid of.
When I select/hold one of them, it says; "This Search Is Trending In Your Area".There is no option to delete them.
Can anyone explain them ?: better still tell me how to stop them!
I will try to attach a screenshot.
Thankyou John
Since I submitted this posting: 4 more have appeared on the list.......It is growing, please help

Hi John,
What Browser are you using.............
You would need to turn of all the "let me help you stuff" tucked away in the Browser and your Google account ...........Location etc
I use Google search and don't see any of what you're seeing..........

Re: Google : search list.
try using private browsing, normally nothing pops up.
Re: Google : search list.
Thanks Costa Kid.
I know "private Browsing" would do the trick. However I would rather sort out the problem, so I didn't need to do that.
Thanks Enrique : I only wish I could undserstand your answer
Cannot find "Let us Help You Stuff" anywhere.

Further to my posting: If I delete my Google account ( this may be an answer) can I then open another Google account, but use the same email address?
Re: Google : search list.
I believe, but do not know, that you can turn this off in Giggle settings, finding it is the trick
Re: Google : search list.
Thanks Lyric.I know how to delete the account.
I need to know I can open a new one using the same email address( different password,of course)

Hi John,
"Cannot find "Let us Help You Stuff" anywhere............... that's why I put it in " "
It will be in your Google account settings. As Lyric said "finding it is the trick"
You could also get your Browser to clear Cache and Cookies when you close it.

I'm thinking of changing my search engine. The one I'm seeing that is being promoted as the new kid on the block is DuckDuckgo.Beachcomber wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:47 pm I don't use Google but is this anything to do with your problem:

Which search engine do you use?

Hi Mark,
DuckDuckgo .......... its been around for sometime, but as you say seems to be getting promoted with all Privacy concerns of late.
Have used it but went back to Google I get better results for Techy searches I'm always doing.
Give it a go.
Any one remember AltaVista...... ? that was a great one back in he day.

Re: Google : search list.
There isn't a lot of choice. I use Duck Duck Go not because it is a great search engine but because it isn't Google and it appears not to manipulate and censor search results.

As for search engines, Startpage is also pretty hot on privacy.
