USB C

Postby markwilding » Sun Mar 21, 2021 8:30 pm

My latest laptop and iPad both charge with USB C chargers. The laptop didn’t come supplied with one but I bought one in Eroski to try and it charges my wireless iPhone charger, my iPad and the laptop so with one cable I can charge all 3.

What I would like though is a USB C wall charger to keep in my laptop/iPad bag as a backup. Anyone had any success with one that works with everything?

Yes, the wall socket would have a normal USB outlet into which you plug a cable with a normal size USB plug on one end with a USB C plug on the other.

I have various plugs including USB C to iPhone socket, USB C to USB C for the iPad but neither will charge to laptop. It think it needs to be at least 60w to give it enough juice.
I use the 60W Plug to USB C into a wireless charger to charge the Iphone then disconnect it and plug it into the others when I need to charge the Ipad or Laptop.
The problem is that there are loads of plugs doing nothing. Eventually, I hope that a plug will not be supplied with any gadget and we use the same one for every one, purchasing a new plug only when required.

This is what I bought.

What I don't know if it' would be overkill for the phone. Mine is the IPhone 11 so still has the old connector as a result it doesn't connect into the charger directly although it does have a normal USB output so I suppose that could be used.

Many new phones have the USB C but 60W might cause some damage. That's why I asked about a charger that would be suitable for everything.
