I have decided to ignore an "Optional Update" in W10.
It is sitting there on the " Windows Update " page, waiting for me to install it.
How long will it stay there?.........it irritates me

Re: Windows Updates
Hi jonbar.1,
MS have removed the "Hide Update" option...........so it will sit there until it gets incorporated with a later Update.

Hi,
",but could I not install it and then immediately uninstall it?( or is that too simple?)"
You could do BUT.......if you Google........ KB5001649 issues ......You may want to leave it where it is.
Its not as though its in you're face on the Desktop......you have to look in Windows Update to see it.

Cheers Enrique.
How the devil did you know I was refering to KB 5001649?
You are absolutely right of course!
I've read that it could be a bit of a problem.

Re: Windows Updates
Thanks Enrique.
Final question: I've also read that it's never a good idea to install " Optional" updates, unless for a partucular problem. Is that your view too?
