DNS / VPN
Can anyone please suggest a DNS / VPN service which will enable us to receive BBC iPlayer and / or Amazon Prime Video. We are currently paying for both SmartyDNS and ExpressVPN and we tried yesterday to get the England rugby on Amazon - neither would work! Also we are finding that we can't now receive BBC iPlayer using either of these services. We have contacted them, but they have not been able to suggest a solution - just saying that as far as they are aware all their servers are working correctly.
A friend has suggested that Nord might work - but I have to say that we don't feel very confident! Particularly as both Smarty & Express maintain on their websites that it is possible to view Amazon and iPlayer.
Any suggestions or advice on anything that might help would be gratefully received! Thank you

smartdnsproxy.com is more reliable. Only lost the BBC once in several years of use.

Nord VPN is reliable.

A smart DNS service is much easier to set up and more flexible at much the same price. I have used SmartyDNS and SmartDNSproxy. Both good with excellent support.

Thanks Sid - We have SmartyDNS but it just doesn't work with Amazon or (at present) BBC iPlayer. They have tried to solve the problem, but not succeeded. I think they have now just given up.

What variety of internet do you have? If for example you use 3g then the ip changes regulaly.

Another vote for smartdnsproxy. Been using them for years. Right now iplayer and netflix working..
Regarding amazon. I'm guessing that you will need a UK Prime account to have any chance of this working. I don't believe that Spanish prime membership will give you access to the services available via a UK prime subscription.

I use SmartDNS. The occasional problems are usually sorted very quickly. I have SmartyDNS as a back up. If you want to do the same, I would cancel Smarty and wait until they offer you it for around 14 Euros per year.

Re: DNS / VPN
You will probably receive an email from them during the eval offering you a real good deal on a 3 year subscription. I think it was 34usd or thereabouts. Makes it a no brainer.sampedrena wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 10:24 am I have tried SmartDNSproxy.com and am very pleased to say that it seems to be doing everything that I want it to do!
