Soundbars
Soundbars
We need to buy a soundbar for our telly.
I've spent hours looking at reviews and on Amazon.
Because my Spanish isn't good on tech stuff, I have to scour Amazon UK,wade through all the specs to get near my requirements and then copy & paste the "ASIN" to Amazon es.
This copy & paste method usually works a treat,so I can get my stuff from "es".However it's proving to be a hard task with soundbars,as there are so many personal requirements and tech-specs.
It would be great if someone out there, who has recently bought a soundbar from Amazon, and is happy with it, could recommend a specific item to me.
(One of our reqs is : "Under €200 euros", preferably around €100.)
Cheers All : JB

Re: Soundbars
i haven´t bought one yet, but i have been looking at them in carrefour and mediamarkt - to replace our aging surround sound system, or even to complement it, if i can make it work that way. Might be worth popping in there and trying some out, if you can ?

Re: Soundbars
Thanks Spanish Lad.
I'll try Carrefour.
I believe Mediamarket is part of Carrefour.
PS; I note you work for Best Parking; we always use them ( you had our Car over Xmas)...excellent personal service

Re: Soundbars
Don't think we've met.
Our car was picked up ( & delivered) by a very professional young chap who I thought
was Spanish ( with perfect English)but he said he wasn't.
We have used you for 8 years,so we may have met.
Hope "Andalucia.com" doesn't mind me putting-in a testimonial!

Re: Soundbars
I bought a Zvox recently. They are specifically for improving dialogue. ( my words not theirs) .
So far I have been delighted. There is a range of settings to allow you to dial down all the racket that seems to be de rigeur nowadays to create atmosphere. I can even hear Americans though it doesn’t improve their drawl.
Not widely available. I got mine from Amazon ( it was in Germany so avoided any nasty trumped up charges from buying outside EU)
If you want something to specifically improve sounds eg music or deafening special effects on movies, I am sure someone else will be along shortly!

Thankyou Olive.
We are fed-up of exclaiming "What did he say?..just rewind it !"
I don't suppose you have the Amazon link or the "ASIN"?
Cheers JB

Re: Soundbars
Buy one or even two from Amazon and send them back if they don’t help you.
The best thing about Amazon is their returns policy. It adds a new dimension to “try and buy”. I upgraded my Apple Watch and ordered 5 different straps. I sent 4 back with no problems at all.

Don’t waste your time with the UK site. If you access Amazon via the Spanish site on Chrome it translates automatically and is 99% accurate.jonbar.1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 4:16 pm We need to buy a soundbar for our telly.

You will find it difficult to get a decent sound bar under €200

Thanks Sid.
I agree with you re using Amazon.es / Chrome.I usually do.However I find it a bit hit&miss with it's "instant" translation.Awkward with technical stuff.
I must say though that using ES is much better than UK in that we can get a really helpful choice of pick-up points.( some 24hrs).
Also,if you need to contact "Support", they will call you back within seconds in English!

Re: Soundbars
Yes easy availability is a problem. We got ours from a German outlet via Amazon.
The soundbar is easy to setup. We now have six handsets to watch tv by. I dare say a techie could reduce that to maybe four…

Re: Soundbars
When/if you decide on a soundbar from amazon paste the url into hagglezon.com. It will check the item price across all amazon's european sites. Quite large differences somtimes between es, de, fr etc.

Re: Soundbars
Good idea, but remember that free postage only applies to the local site where you have Prime membership.

Re: Soundbars
Thanks for the link Sid.
As I said ; my budget is €200 max.
I'm not looking for all-singing & dancing sound; just something to make the voices clearer.
I understand, via Google, that this is entirely achievable as low as €100.
Problem is locating it.

Re: Soundbars
I am still happy with my old Sony 5.1 system but funnily enough, my wife and I were talking about the possibility of a sound bar only last Saturday.
These days TV sound speakers are much improved so would a low cost sound bar actually make my ch difference?
