I am thinking of installing "Bitdefender Antivirus Plus" on my W10 laptop.
( I only need to cover one device).
I live in Spain.
How do I buy it?
Do I buy from AmazonUK, AmazonES, or Bitdefender direct? ( I don't need the "Free/ trial" version as I am happy to buy it)
I assume that,when I order, they will email me a key/ code?
Any advice appreciated
Thankyou
Bitdefender

Re: Bitdefender
I would stick with the built in Windows AV.

Hi jonbar.1,
Save your money and use the inbuilt Windows AV and Firewall.............
I've not had any issues that would make me look for a Third-Party one.
I always buy any Programs direct from Vendors Site.... there are some "Grey " options on Amazon and others. Hence they may look cheaper......

Thanks Sid & Enrique.
I like the option of just using the built-in Windows Security. It sounds so simple.(I'm currently using Kaspersky which runs out in August.)
However, I use my Laptop for my online banking and buying from Amazon.Does this not mean that I need something more substantial than the "windows"?
Sorry if I sound a bit dim

Re: Bitdefender
Enrique. Forgive me, but I am confused.
I have just Googled the question " Is Windows Security enough?"
Every single link I read said "No"
The general gist was that it was OK unless you have personal files & info you need to protect.
I reckon I will take your advice Enrique,but I'm very nervous .

Hi jonbar.1,
" I use my Laptop for my online banking and buying from Amazon.Does".............same as me, plus loads of other online sites and have being doing this for some years.
In the last two years along with Mrs E bought everything on-line...........I had to setup a "goods in" area to process the many daily deliveries....
Just seen your last post........... bet the sites that are saying that have a recommendation "link" to a product.... They get commission.
If I thought there was any doubt I'd be recommending a different product.........trust me ...... I'm a sysadmin........

Enrique,if it's good enough for you & Mrs E.....it's good enough for me.
So,does this mean that when my Kaspersky ends,I do nothing?

Hi jonbar.1
Use the Kaspersky removal tool to remove the AV............
https://support.kaspersky.com/common/uninstall/1464
......... Reboot
The Windows Security will kick in, it may may show the Shield with a ( ! ) mark just click on it and Turn ON whatever is turned off.........
