"Windows Getting Ready"

Postby jonbar.1 » Fri Jun 17, 2022 9:37 am

I was having a problem with a W10 update stuck on " Installing 100%".
I ran the Update Troubleshooter. It advised me to restart the laptop.
I did this.Unfortunately the screen has been on "Windows is getting ready" for 90mins now.
Should I simply be patient and wait?
( According to Microsoft: we should give it 2-3 hrs !)
Cheers.JB

 Update.
Laptop is restarting.
1hr 35mins is a record,on my device for the "Widows is getting ready" screen
I'd be interested if anyone else has had a longer wait?
Cheers

Hi jonbar.1,

Have a read .............. plenty of info on the web..........no need to download any "fixes"........ Google is your support

Example........

https://www.easeus.com/resource/fix-get ... puter.html

This month's Update takes a while on a slow system...........but not hours... just done one on an Intel i3 laptop.

Good you waited................... :D

Thanks Enrique.
I had read that link. That's why I opted to wait.
Oddly enough; having restarted the laptop and opened "Windows Update" the very same update is still there and installing ( on 20% for the last 15mins).
I hope it doesn't get stuck on "Installing 100%" again.

Hi jonbar.1
If it does get stuck, do a "Windows 10 update module reset."
