Suddenly the word "Desktop" has appeared on my taskbar (W10).
It's just to the left of the system tray.
When I expand it it shows a list ( see image).
Can anyone tell me why it has arrived ?
How do I get rid of it?
Thankyou JB

Re: Taskbar oddity
Hi Enrique.
I have a weird update on this:
I right clicked on the word "desktop", then the "black" list appeared
Then I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT-CLICKED on one of the items in the list ( not a clue which one!)......the "desktop" icon disappeared.
Problem seems to have gone. Don't suppose you have any idea which Item I clicked on to achieve this?
I'd love to know.

Don't worry about it Enrique.
Leaking diesel is more urgent.
I've sorted the problem.
I'm just curious how I did it!

Re: Taskbar oddity
Hi jonbar.1
I'll never never know how you got to the Desktop icon ...........but there is this way ,and you may recognize some of the procedure.
Right click on empty space on screen --> click on view --> you will see Show desktop icons ticked
Right click on TaskBar -->Toobars -->click on Desktop and it appears in the taskbar
To remove it uncheck Desktop in above.
So its not a "pinned" icon and is removed as above.
So how does that grab you...............

Re: Taskbar oddity
Thankyou Enrique.
I have used the "right-click-on-empty-space" procedure many times.
..... I never realised you could do that!
Always great to pick up new tips
Cheers JB
