Re: TV mucho
Currently using tvmucho. Not as many channels as transponder(which I had a few years ago). Having said that it has the mainstream UK channels and performs well enough. No vpn/dns needed, and one of the cheaper options.
ExpatPrime which I just got rid of has more channels, but is way more expensive.

Re: TV mucho
If you use the various apps such as BBC iPlayer etc, you get all the main UK channels free.

Re: TV mucho
There are more channels not just the main UK channels plus some French and German channels.

Re: TV mucho
For sure. But it's worth the relatively low cost to have them unified into a single app along with an epg. Way more convenient. Plus you can record, although in the HD package the number of recordings and their longevity is restricted.
Now if the free view app worked on a firestick or android box it would be a different matter. But sadly it doesn't.

Re: TV mucho
We have used TV Mucho as a cheap back-up for our IPTV, and probably use it half a dozen times each year. Freeview channels only, but works very well, and a worthwhile option......
Re: TV mucho
Thank you all. I have subscribed and managed to get the app. on the TV. Do I assume they will continue to take my subscription every month until told otherwise?

Re: TV mucho
I would expect so. No experience of this as I normally pay a 12 month subscription, which as a bonus is a little cheaper than 12 x monthly. They do auto renew after 12 months so likely they'll do the same monthly unless you tell them otherwise.

I did that with transponder, looks like I've lost what was left.

Re: TV mucho
I paid 3 months 'monthly to try it out, then renewed for a year. They take it automatically.
We have been using it on the recommendation of casita-bonita, among others. It's been going for a while, and the quality is good.

Re: TV mucho
The problem is that selling on free to view public television is illegal. Over the years even the free sites have been forced to restrict their offering so the question is, how long can TVMucho continue before the BBC gets it in its sights. There is also the issue that Spanish ISPs block many illegal media sites and the only way in is with a VPN.
I know some still prefer to sit down and watch programmes while being tied to schedules but I prefer the flexibility apps such IPlayer offer and of course some of their best programming is in very high quality 4K but only available with the App. In addition, as they are free, I have more money to enable me to subscribe to pay TV sites such as Netflix and DAZN. I should also add that I have Sky with an EPG but apart from sport, will always go into the catch up and box set parts to find something to watch, I'm also pretty certain that this is how more and more are viewing back in the UK and there will eventually come a time when there will be no scheduled TV at all.

TVmucho say that the technology they use to enable viewing of UK channels is fully legal and contravenes no UK or EU laws.markwilding wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 1:27 pm The problem is that selling on free to view public television is illegal. They would say that, wouldn't they!
I agree with Mark. The free UK apps are usually better picture quality and easier to use - no need to bother about recording and many series are available in full on day 1.

Re: TV mucho
My wife finds TVmucho far easier to navigate plus some channels are not available as UK apps.

Re: TV mucho
That's a comment that should be taken up with them.
Watching the individual players may give you better quality, but it is illegal. Hence the need to use vpn or dns to fool them into thinking that you're in the UK....
