Lately I am getting a stream of spam all the time. I am dealing with a lot of matters following the death of my brother so cannot risk changing my email address.
Is there anything I can do to at least reduce the flood to a trickle?
I click to define them as junk, block the sender but still they come. I am having to be very careful that no babies get thrown out with the bathwater but it really is a pain! Nearly all of the rubbish is US based.

Re: Spam deluge on Hotmail
Thank amigo, but I dare not risk mail not getting through from say DWP, or housing benefit office.
I really cannot understand why it happens as surely no one is stupid enough to respond, especially if living in Spain and the crap offered is in the States?

Hi peteroldrace,
Add DWR etc to the Safe list............
Leave Spam filter as is and just change your DNS servers to the OpenDNS ones I posted...........
I run my own on-site DNS servers and use the OpenDNS Family one as my up stream server......not had any problem getting all my email.... just get the very odd Spam that Google Mail catches.

Re: Spam deluge on Hotmail
I get at least 30 spam emails a day on my work email address. The web guys have tried everything but it still pours in from China and Russia daily. I cant set the setting too high in case i miss something important.

Re: Spam deluge on Hotmail
Hi guys,
Where are the SPAM emails going....... in your Inbox or Spam box
........ if Spam Box then that's not a problem apart from tidying up.
As a test ........... change your DNS settings to the OpenDNS servers 208.67.222.123 and 208.67.220.123
see how that goes and please Post back........................

Re: Spam deluge on Hotmail
Hi Guys,
Since setting my DNS back to Default (ISP) and not using my DNS servers....... I'm starting to get Spam in my Inbox..........
I'll let it run today ............ then just opt for OpenDNS only tomorrow as a test.........
