Smarty DNS
Smarty DNS
I just got my renewal notice from smarty.
However when I try to look at my account on their website I get an error message (have tried various devices) saying site cant be reached or safari cant open page because it could not connect the server.
I also tried the app and it says the certificate for this server is invalid.
I normally use smart dns but subscribe to smarty only as a back up.
anyone any idea?

UNIX is basically a simple operating system, but you have to be a genius to understand the simplicity.

Re: Smarty DNS
Hi snorbs,
Are you using Safari to access SmartyDNS on all devices ..................
If so
Try another Browser Google Chrome...........
SmartDNS is a " grey " (my term) site and current Browsers will flag these sites as "Potential Security Issue"
You could lower the Browser Security........not recommended

Hi,
Missed my typo in previous Post..........
SmartyDNS is the one that my Browser flags up a "Potential Security Issue"
Leave it for now and try again later..........

Re: Smarty DNS
having had a look on social media I am not sure this company / website is still active
they have my credit card details for renewing a service that maybe no longer exists
anyone else still using them?
not sure how I can stop them taking the money if there is no way to contact them / cancel the subscription

Re: Smarty DNS
Webpage has been like this for a few weeks now...
smartdnsproxy still working
smartdnsproxy still working
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it
Re: Smarty DNS
yes the problem is I dont want to pay USD 50 for a 2 year renewal to Smarty DNS if you cnat even contact the company and the website no longer works

Re: Smarty DNS
Simple solution - stick with SmartDNSproxy - no need for a backup.

Re: Smarty DNS
I used Smarty as a backup for a couple of years but I changed to Unlocator because Smarty was starting to be very unreliable.
As far as I remember taking out another long term subscription was not automatic.
Another point is that it is not necessary to pay the full amount for these services. I pay 43 USD for two years with unlocator and 19.99 USD for 1 year with SmartDNS. The trick is to take out a free trial, then wait for them to send you the offers, which they do on a regular basis
