My Firestick registered with Amazon.co.uk is not connecting to the server so certain features such as Alexa are not working. I've done all the usual stuff, updating, restarting etc without any joy. I thought I'd check my Amazon account online as I've read that it's an idea to deregister and then register the account again on the Firestick when this happens.
I cannot get the UK Amazon account to load on my laptop so maybe that's why the Firestick isn't connecting? Also my Audible UK page won't load. I get the message:
This site can’t be reached
www.amazon.co.uk took too long to respond.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
Amazon.es is working fine. I've cleared the cookies but not sure what else to do.

Re: Amazon UK not loading
Amazon was playing up tonight, had problems trying to make payment. An error message kept coming up, maybe try again tomorrow Wicksey.

If you are using SmartDNSproxy, then they are having some issues...
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

That could be the reason thensatandpcguy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 12:27 am If you are using SmartDNSproxy, then they are having some issues...

This is on the SmartDNSproxy FB page ... with some users reporting in the last few hours that some services are coming back for them

Re: Amazon UK not loading
The problem when a DNS server goes down is that you cannot communicate through it. If you have the option in your router or device to have more than one DNS, then make sure the second option is not a Smart DNS server. Use the Google DNS which always works. It is 8.8.8.8. Usually, if the first server in the list is down, it should then use the second option.

I guess the DNS servers I use are OK as all the TV channels still work OK. It seems to be Amazon which isn't loading although the apps on the Firestick still function OK. I think I shall wait until it's sorted out.

Re: Amazon UK not loading
I could still access much of the internet using my smartdnsproxy router, , but certain UK things like iPlayer only came back on yesterday afternoon, as they said it is only affecting "services which are based on regions", so i preume this is down to what region settings you have in your dashboard.
UPdate : but today seeing lots of reports from others to say Amazon services are still not working correctly with smartdnsproxy

Re: Amazon UK not loading
Mine has been playing up as well. A temporary solution is to log in to my router without DNS settings then log back into the one with the DNS settings.
