Re: Car Emissions Sticker
all towns over 50,000 inhabitants are supposed to bring in a scheme by the end of2023.
I hope it doesnt mean we can’t continue our holiday plans. Incidentally other European countries have schemes of their own.

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
I bought one a few weeks back from the PO but when I went back to get one for the other car they had run out of C stickers. I've read that Malaga hope to have the cameras installed and up and running by the end of this year, although I know that some cities like Granada and Madrid already have the LEZ scheme up and running. If you have a diesel older than 2006 then you cannot get a sticker, which rules out most of the stinky old cars that drive past our house!
Re: Car Emissions Sticker
this is all news to me ... havent seeen mention in Malaga Hoy, Diariosur, Axarquia Plus ... menos mal I live in el campo!

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
There's a national shortage of 'c' stickers apparently.
Here's the official dgt link to check what sticker your car is entitled to : https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/vehiculos/di ... ambiental/

I'm in the campo too gavilan but I read about it here:
https://www.surinenglish.com/spain/how- ... 31-nt.html
I don't usually get the paper copy but do look online at Sur in English regularly. We had to go into Malaga city for the first time for a few years so thought we'd better get the sticker just in case. I have read though that it's unlikely to be fully implemented for some time as they have yet to install all the cameras.

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
getting an emission sticker is right down the botttom of my to-do list ... I rarely go into Velez or Malaga these days ... since covid have become very parochial ...
Re: Car Emissions Sticker
According to the DGT site, both of my cars need a B sticker.
So do I just go to a post office and ask for 2 stickers?
Do they need any proof that I am entitled to them?
Cheers

So for €3 extra, I can get the stickers sent by post.
Saves queuing at a post office.

Gerry,
It is a slippery slope you are on. Next you will be in a uniform with a chest full of medals with martial music in the background.
Honst, M'lud, I was not trying to spread subversion...........

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
I got one at the PO for 5 euros. I travel to Madrid every year so both my last cars have had one. Bilbao and 2 municipales close by introduced the rule at the beginning of the year but It doesn’t seem to be being enforced just yet because most cars still don’t have the sticker.
I looked online and there were charging 6 euros but I needed it quick so I popped into the PO on the way to Madrid.

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
Gerry it is easy to do it at the PO and costs 5€. We took the green Permiso car document and they accepted a driving licence as ID. She simply printed the car reg details onto the sticker and that was that. Took only a few minutes (and often there's no queue at our PO).
Re: Car Emissions Sticker
Wicksey I guess you use the PO in Torrox pueblo?
When we first arrived in Spain in our motorhome we stayed at Camping El Pino whilst we house hunted.
We found that post office very friendly, helpful with not much queuing.
Now Torre del Mar or Rincon de la Victoria are our nearest post offices but both usually have queues and no near to park.
Besides I'd probably use €3 of petrol to drive to them and find somewhere to park.
Less hassle, for me, was to use the online service.
Cheers

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
Yes you're quite right. The one to avoid near here is Nerja where the queue is often out onto the street. Usually ours is pretty quiet and they are friendly in there which is handy.

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
Last year I got the one that’s mandatory in certain French cities. Assume it’s valid eu wide, including Spain?

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
The government announcement said that stickers issued by those EU states would be valid in Spain.
The UK government has no such scheme - as well as no longer being an EU state so they are not available for UK registered cars.

Re: Car Emissions Sticker
There's information in the Sur in English link I posted and also in Sede link that Spanish Lad posted above.
The Spanish sticker is not valid outside of Spain, but some foreign stickers are acceptable here:
Can I drive with my badge from another country in restricted areas within Spain?
Yes. You can check the equivalence between the classifications of the different countries . In this way you will be able to know the equivalent Spanish emblem of your vehicle, knowing what traffic restrictions may affect you, and being able to drive on our roads with the emblem of your country. https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/vehiculos/di ... l-ue.shtml
