to clarify, there are three types of "permiso de circulation", one being the "proper" one (used to be a piece of paper with a stamp, a short passage printed out and handwritten ie: fill in the blanks sorta form), the new version of which is a green piece of A5 card, with your name and address printed on it, and details of the car, with the registration "stamped" into the card at the top corner.

the third type is the "trasfer slip" which also serves as a "permiso decirculation temporada" and lasts 60 days, you get one of these when you are transferring the name of the owner. you can do an itv with this form. it is again an A5 sized piece of paper, white, and with the thickness of tissue paper almost.

this form is, and always has been (for the last 10 years) a green piece of card, normally A5 size and folded in half. it has all the cars technical details on it, as well as if you have any "special parts" (bull bars, bigger wheels / tyres, tow bar etc) they will all be listed on it. on the back, as beach says is writing on the top half, and on the bottom half is space for a small stamp, the date and the testers signiture.

hope this clarifies things.

Many thanks

the itv centre in malaga is easy to find.

take the turn off to the "guadalahorce pol. ind." depending on your direction you may be entering from the bridge or not, continue down the road past "bauhaus" on the right and the water treatment works on the left, towards the first roundabout. (if its been raining its 10-1 that it will be flooded. the roads full of pot holes, so drive slowly).

at the first roundabout (just after you have crossed the river / water run off that doesn´t work  take the first right. follow the road down and move into the left hand lane, you´ll go past a motorbike shop (if its still there  ) and not the first left, but i think the third should be the itv place, the first is a no entry, the second is the next road, the third should have the itv place on the corner - theres a big sign with "itv" in white with a blue background and a yellow border sticking up about 100ft in the air.

stop in the left hand lane, wait for a safe gap and cross the other side of traffic, you need to go in to the car park, pull up and take your documents into the office (the entrance is behind you, in the trees)

get in the queue and you´ll need to give them the green "ficha technica" and about 35€ for a car, 45€ for a van or 4x4. they will give you a white form, and your green "v5" and a receipt for the money, and tell you which lane to get in (1-8).

get in your lane and queue up, when it gets to your turn the guy will wave you forward to do the headlight test, and check the exaust gases, but first he´ll take your forms off you, and fill something in and then put it under the wiper blade for the next guy to pick up.

its all very easy, after the first time :)
