renew car insurance

Postby curatokid » Sun May 10, 2009 8:57 am

My car insurance is due for renewal and I have been looking around to see if there are any competative prices and Direct Line seem to be very good, my only concern is that dealing with a company like that is will I get good service in the event of a claim ? Any experiencies would be helpful. Thank you....

I have had two claims with Linea Directa and they were handled brilliantly - they could not have done it any better.

101% recommended.

The only drawback with LD is that their renewal premiums can be high so get alternative price quotes that are nearly always cheaper and then tell LD what they are, LD will give you a cheaper price....its called insurance poker.......and can save you hundreds in a year especially if you have more than one car per household.

I can also vouch for LD service in the event of an accident. They sent grua and taxi to pick the car and us up and even sent SMS messages telling us when each would arrive and then there was no problem with the repairs either.

i am moving from linea directa for the first time in 6 years....why?....they wouldnt budge on price for the first time ever!! They quoted me €499 and when i told them Abbeygate had quoted €389 they could not even consider matching it!

Can't fault Linea Directa. A van ran into us recently outside Makro. Fortunately the car was still driveable but even before we left the scene of the accident they had already booked the car into a repairer in Velez Malaga, which incidentally did a quick and good repair (under two weeks to get the damage assessed, new wing, bonnet and bumper ordered and fitted).

They may sometimes not be the cheapest but maybe it is worth that little bit extra to get good service.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Thanks all for advice, I have today spoken to them and they were very helpful, and as I am retired I got an extra 40 euro discount , so far so good, I have english speaking telephone numbers to cover Europe in the event of needing assistance.
