ITV on Vehicles Not Used

Postby Acen » Mon Nov 22, 2010 11:17 am

Hi

Ive got a scooter in the Garage that i dont use and its ITV will run out next year. (Feb I believe).

I have not manged to sell it and its insurance will expire in June.

My question is what happens if I dont do the ITV??? Its not on the road and I hope to sell it soon.

Can i just not do the ITV and possibly do it when it needs to be done!!!!

Do all vehicles need ITV regardless of usage???

cheers

Hi Acen,
No problem with not using the scooter with no ITV , just need ITV to sell it if its the same a car.
Best to check with your vehicle Gestor.

fir the sake of 20 euros or so, isn´t it worth keeping "road legal" in case of an emergency?

My understanding of the law is that it has to be itv'd always, even if its parked off the road on your property & not used. There's a fine , apparently,to even renew the itv after the due date. I've never heard of anyone getting one thoiugh ! Same with insurance, would you believe. You cannot have an uninsured vehicle , ever, even on your own land , unless it's de-registered. An gestoria told me a while back that the DGt actually have a data -base of all vehicles registered requiring itv's , & another for insurance but that they don't 'talk' to each other .
