Motorhome wanted

Postby hillybilly » Tue Feb 07, 2012 6:08 pm

Am looking to buy a LHD Spanish plated motorhome, 1990 onwards, diesel pref, up to 10k euros, poss a bit more for the right vehicle. Not having much luck with the usual classified sites at the mo (full of fake ads...). If anyone knows of any for sale, please let me know.
Also the whereabouts of 2ndhand motorhome dealers. I seem to recall there's one on the outskirts of Granada, nr the airport...any others people know of please? Ta.

There is a dealer on the poligino on the left of the A-356, about 7kms east of Casabermeja - signwriting says sales and hire.

You could put a add on www.motorhomefacts.co.uk and have a look what they have on there, if need be join, but you do get some free posts, and I found both mine on there even though I bought them in Spain.

Autocaravanas de Malaga - on the A-7052 (Cartama to Churriana Road) at the back of the Airport. Coming from the direction of Cartama on left hand side just after the roundabout. Shown on Google Maps. They seem to sell and rent them.

Have you considered comparing the prices with what is available in Germany.

One of my Spanish mates found the differential enough to make it well worth his while going to Germany, driving back to Spain and re-registering it.

Is this any good, Hilly? It is advertised in Digame, a newsletter I get. It's probably more than you want to pay, but it does look very nice.http://digame-torrox.blogspot.com/2012/ ... -sale.html

Thanks for all the suggestions. Am presently considering one I've found that a guy in Casabermeja has - he seems to have 3 or 4 for sale at any one time...he imports them and puts them on Spanish plates.

I did look into importing from Germany but have been told that numberplates there remain with the vehicle owner (rather than with the vehicle)? So not sure how you get round the replating issue to be able to drive back...?

3 day export plates in Germany . Vehicle can be insured in Spain using the chassis number. You have to produce insurance to get the export plates.

Just a tad over your budget, but worth it, I'm sure you'll agree. It's what Detourer uses, I imagine.
