mitsubishi Carisma

Postby metalmonkey » Tue Sep 17, 2013 5:10 pm

Hi

I have been told that I need new spark plugs and one new ´bobina´...possibly four . I have been quoted 160 euros for each one (bobina)...Does anyone know the english word for a bobina which sits on top of where the spark plugs go. Hoping I can get one from a scrap yard in Uk

Many thanks

Hi metalmonkey,
Ignition coil packs as per DA..................

http://www.micksgarage.com/ignition-par ... /1.6/8710/

I just picked the above as an example ...............you would need to be more specific with your year model................I paid circa £50 for Renault ones........... :(

Added:: Looking at above site and comparing prices on Renault bits they look very good.

Added some more :: Have used this company in Spain......may have your bits.........

many thanks, I have been at the mercy of the local garage who has been excellent but 160 euros each is a bit steep

Tell them you can get them from Mick's garage for 25% of spanish cost & they can just fit them. Shouldn't be a problem to them & they might even want the details many will but from anywhere were the prices are dar cheaper- Delivery is normally 3-4 days.

It would be very unlucky if all 4 went at the same time usually only one. Is the car running and is it running a bit lumpy ie under power if so probably only one will be gone. It's easy to find which one by disconnecting one at a time and then starting the car. Have a look on flea bay and also Eurocarparts it may be cheaper to get one posted out.
