costakid, you're dead right, but the priciple is the same, it keeps the battery charged, doesn't it

Anyway, after all this talk of strange pieces of cars, vaseline and belts, and my helpful neighbours being away in Cordoba with their family, I called the local garage, Ramon came down, started it up, we went to the garage and they changed the battery, put in water, oil, gave me a big flagon of pink water to take home with me and it all came to 100 Euros. A Good Deal, I think. The old battery was a bit of a bu66er to get out so probably just as well the professionals did it.
Purring like a cat, it is, now.

Thanks for all your helpful hints.

Not even with a splash of tonic and a little umbrella, Nimrod?
And Devils, I will treasure the flagon.

Costa, I just keep the yellow snow as decoration. But the pink cocktail is going down a treat. Getting the party started......................
