ITV appt.

Postby jonbar.1 » Sat Apr 09, 2022 11:42 am

I started to make an appointment for my ITV.
After filling in: Licence plate and Veh reg. I then select "Periodical" I then get the "Cita Propuesta" page.
( I live in Torrox: nearest station is Algarrobo).
However, the "Proposed Station" is shown as " ITVCarob".
Oddly enough, for a split-second,as the page opens it does actually say " Algarrobo", but then,in a flash, becomes "ITV Carob"
If I opt to "Change station", the drop-down list does not show Algarrobo.
Does anyone know what is happenning please?
Cheers JB

Just tried it and comes up with Algarrobo every time for me.
Couldn't see an "ITV Carob" in the list of alternative stations.
Cheers

Update Enrique:
I googled " how to clear a website data in Chrome"
This worked  I can now use the site using Chrome.
It still does not work in "Edge" which is my prefered browser. Is there a way to clear the site data in this browser?
Thankyou JB

It’s the auto translate. A Carob is algarrobo in Spanish

Thanks Sid
However the translator is working OK.Every page of the site is translated.
Everything is in English. The only word which does not make sense ( Spanish?) Is "Carob"
As I explained: when the "Proposed Citation" page opens it shows "Algorrobo" for a split- second then "Carob".
This is now only a problem in the Edge browser.
Chrome is OK.
Enrique: I tried all the instructions in the link you sent me( Clearing data etc); but the site still does not work in Edge.
As It's OK in Chrome, I'm reluctant to waste everyone's time any further. It's just annoying me that I can't get it to work in Edge ( irrational pride !) :x
Oddly; it is also fine in Firefox.
Thanks : Gerry, Sid & Enrique for your input.
JB

Sadly even the best online translators cannot differenciate between names (which should never be translated) and objects - and also do not pick up that apart from pets and boats English uses gender-neutral terms. So a bar called "El Caracole" changes to "The Snail" - not helpful if you are looking for the name sign, and Facebook group comments about films say "I enjoyed her" rather than "it". I find it best to read the thing in Spanish, using translation only for the words I don't know. I have yet to find a website with an English option to be much use as no-one seems to think of passing the text to a native English speaker to correct it.
I used to cough to disguise a [email protected] I f@rt to disguise a cough.

I agree Petrololdracer.
I use "Translate" then double check it , esp.for proper nouns.
I have to admit that I couldn't understand , when using Amazon.es on my browser, why it showed "Amazon.is" in the address bar.....then I realised that Google had translated "es" as "is" ( as in the verb "to be")
