Renewing my Spanish driving licence and medical exam.

My driving licence needs to be renewed in November.
I recently had cataract operations in both eyes.
I am slightly dubious that my eaesid¡ght will pass the test.
The doctor said my eyesight should be OK in 3 to 4 months.
So if I don't have the medical in November, I know I won't be able to drive, no valid licence, and wait until my eyes are OK can I then have the medical and get my licence renewed?

The medical and eye test they did when I changed my licence over was so basic I think a blind person would have passed. I am only partially sighted in one eye and can just see the really big letters at the top of the chart and when I told him that just he said OK. Then he asked can I see the rest of the chart with my other eye and I said yes! Eye test over. Hearing test consisted of waving a tuning fork around my head and asking if I could hear it. I did not do the computer game test thingy at all.

I've already had a couple of medicals so I know how they work.
My worry is that if I have one and my eyesight isn't up to the required standard then I will not be issued with a new licence.
So if my eyesight improves or is corrected, can I then retake the medical and simply be issued with a new licence?

My OH is renewing every 5 years. He's never had a problem. First time eye test, tuning fork for hearing (he had problem hearing it ) Mickey mouse steering game, and Bob's your uncle you've passed. Thing is eye test is a load of rubbish because it's really checking your near sight but all the road might be a blur 100 yards ahead. Good Luck.

That is the problem, my near sight is not very good at the moment.

Unless someone has done this it may be best to go into the medical centre you will use and ask them?

You should be able to renew your license, even if it has expired. My wife forgot to renew her license for 3 months and had no problem renewing it.
