Not many snakes around this year?

Postby olive » Mon Sep 15, 2008 11:20 am

Looking back on the year, I haven't seen very many snakes this year compared to previous years.

Anyone else noticed the same? Perhaps it is the weather.

PS Can't say I am disappointed!

I don't think there are less round here - on three occasions I have had to evict one this year, enjoying a swim in the pool!

Funnily enough we were only saying today that there haven't been many this year, either here on the Finca or crossing the tracks while driving into town.

Not seen as many snakes or for that matter as many lizards . We used to see both on the road all the time last year .

We have had a few large snakes this summer curled up on the patio enjoying the sun but soon disappear when disturbed. We also have had a small snake who pops out and grabs the odd Gecko near the pool. Snakes can be seen near our local lake in the rocks or swimming across it. This prompted me to look up the different types of snakes in Spain which was very interesting and reassuring.
