Birth control pills for dogs
I have been speaking to a Spanish lady who works at a dog refuge in the town and she was saying they give their b-itches a birth control pill every week. Our neighbour also gives his b-itch a birth control pill, a ´human´ one.... anyone here heard of this being done? I did a Google search, and I could only find American web sites that said it did not work..... but it must do, neighbours dog has not gotten pregnant the past 3 years, against getting pregnant every season before that. DO any of you folk here know of any refuges that use birth control pills?

Yes it seems 'common practice' for vets to give animals human medicines. We have been given prescriptions to go to the farmacia and when we asked why 'because it is cheaper'
However our vet does look up the animal version and then the human equivalent in a massive book.
Probably because it is 1€ cheaper but it does seem to work.
