I did something REALLY stupid.....(again)
I sold my little moto almost 2 years ago for a few hundred euros cash.
I got a fine for €100 in the post for some traffic violation last week.
I got no paperwork to prove I sold it...

Re: I got fined for my old moto I sold.
Do you know the name and address of the person to whom you sold it?
You could try filling in this form:
Change of ownership form
but it requires the name and address as well as the signature of the purchaser. Even if you can get DGT to accept it without these details you will remain responsible for fines already incurred and up until the date of acceptance of the form.

No I don't have the name or details. I naively assumed the buyer would get it re-registered.
I think I may have to report it as stolen..??

That would be a false denuncia and could put YOU in trouble.hiker wrote:No I don't have the name or details. I naively assumed the buyer would get it re-registered.

The person who bought your moped might get arrested and end up suing you for reporting the bike stolen when it isn't.
Re: I got fined for my old moto I sold.
Here we go again....ALWAYS when selling a car or moto etc, go together to get the paperwork done. The purchaser pays the fees etc, they don't bother to change ownership when they say they will. The OWNER is responsible for the local tax and any fines. You could go to the local town hall if you have one of the local tax payment papers and get it put in 'Baja' say it is off the road, they cancel the moto with traffico, if a person is found riding it they will have a lot of explaining to do. I would suggest you visit a Jestor they may be able to advise you.

Don't want to depress you but you'll owe 2 years road tax as well+ fines.

Stupid me...a GESTOR no Jestor.....
Re: I got fined for my old moto I sold.
I'm going to the Gestor in the morning. The back tax is not a problem as it was paid up until the end of the year.
The fine appears to be inescapable by all accounts.
