Hi Paul and welcome.
Enrique's link to spain holiday offers the most up to date information I have found about the new law which is due soon, but we have been waiting for nearly 18 months now.
Some of us have vivienda rurales or casa rurales and they do not come under the same licence ruling, and should be in allocated country areas not competing with hotels. In other words, providing a rural leasing service where non would normally exist.
It would be impossible for many of us " campo holiday lets " to install a/cs in ancient walls over 2 feet thick for example and we have a different set of criteria ie supplementary water systems and so on. We need a licence as well. The new law for holiday lets will insist on a/c installation and possibly wifi.
You will be required to pay tax on your income of course, best done via gestoria or financial department of local lawyers office, as I do.

I think anyone, private or business who rents property needs a licence. Im sure they brought that law in 2013

Could be, Costakid, but I was told by the Dept of Works etc, in Cáceres that it depended on how many weeks a year the property was to be let. This is Spain. Nothing is as easy as a fixed law.
