Do we have 3 months now instead of 2? I thought it was the beginning of May until the end of June?

No, nothing has changed. You can't do much until the PADRE program is released which is usually at the beginning of April. The deadline is June 25th.

Hi

There is a lot of conflicting info about when to register. The most common is 11th May. Would be much happier if it is as you say - June.
ps What is the Padre program ?

Hi amelia,
Welcome to The Forum........... :D

"ps What is the Padre program ?"

Beachcomber's definition.......... :D

"The standard way of working out the tax is to put it through the PADRE program but the problem is the misinterpretation of the tax laws by people who should know better."

Other definitions can be found by Searching The Forum with.......... Padre

You could Download an old copy to have a look................

Hi Amelia.

Welcome from me as well.

I don't think it is conflicting at all! It's the same as it has always been. I have no idea where 11th May came from - it is not on a specific date.

What do you mean by "register"?

The PADRE program is the computer program that is used to calculate the tax due and print out the completed forms. It can also be used to submit them online. Most people wait until well into June to pay - there is no incentive to pay early.

Sid
I tend to submit my wife's tax return early as she doesn't receive enough income to pay tax and gets a tax rebate of the tax that has been retained from the interest on her investments.

As I said, there is no incentive to pay, but to receive - definitely!

In case anyone is unaware of this, you can delay 40% of the payment until November, but you must tick the box on the form.
