Moving back to UK and taxes

Postby marios » Sun Feb 23, 2020 1:06 pm

If we move back to UK before the 183 day limit I believe we will not pay tax to Spain (thanks Cid)as they don't do split years, but what happens in the UK, do you start paying tax from the day you arrive or from April the start of the tax year or from Jan 1st where you paid no tax to the Spanish authorities?.

I would think as soon as you tell them you are back. If you have a pension(s)everything goes back to normal. Ie you get a normal tax code rather than N.T . I guess depending on the time of year you start paying you may get a tax rebate at the end of the tax year as you wont have used all your allowance up.

Intresting though re the jan -june as in theory you could have 6 months tax free income!
