If you were issued with a fine under the state of alarm you can reclaim it.

Crikey.

Quite a lot of ramifications. The authorities will be drowned in paperwork. Where did the money for fines go to? What about consequential losses.

Covid, the gift that keeps on giving.

There is a lot of discussion about this on the Abogados por la Libertad and Policías por la Libertad Telegram channels as well as many more Spanish language channels.

There is a pro-forma for reclaiming fines and talk of compensation for people who were otherwise adversely affected by the illegal actions of the government.

The repayment of the fines alone could run to a billion euros or more and the scope for successful compensation claims for damage to health, false imprisonment, loss of businesses and livelihoods etc is virtually limitless.

This, together with what is taking place in France and other countries at the moment, could open up a whole new can of worms, to put it mildly.
