Spanish family visiting the UK

Postby morlandg » Thu Apr 07, 2022 6:56 pm

I'm pretty sure that the question "what do spanish resident need to do currently to visit the UK and also on their return to Spain" has been asked and answered here on this forum. What I'm interested in is - what do the two daughters need to do on their entry to the UK and upon return to Spain? Presumably it will depend on what their legal status is? All I know is that their father is a British citizen, the mother a Danish citizen and one daughter was born in Spain and the other in Denmark. What and how do the parents need to determine before flying to the UK?

I think that Spain is open to all provided they are fully vaccinated and with certificates to prove it?

I don't think anything is required to enter UK now, no forms or vaccination, and your 'legal status' isn't an issue.

It depends on their age and vaccination status as to what is required for them to enter Spain. More info at https://www.spth.gob.es/

Couldn’t find anything to eat. Just when you can’t think it can get any dafter. My Spanish friends live English breakfast fish n chips etc. Hope this goes viral tell everyone what a rotten country it is then they won’t want to cross 3 or 4 countries to get here.

I have this conversation on a regular basis. The Spanish seem to think that all we eat is fast food, ready meals and English breakfast, which may be true for some but I would definitely say that many friends and family in the UK also eat good food. Anyway, the same argument could be made of many Spanish because there are always queues to pay in the typical fast food restaurants near here. That can't be tourists because there aren't any around here.

My wife backs me up on this and the only one who complains in her family is the brother-in-law. The rest of her family enjoy the British meals she cooks.

While on student trips to both the UK and Ireland, I would say that only twice did I stay somewhere where the food was a bit basic. The others gave us good healthy tasty food.

Of course it might just be a timing issue. We often return from a tiring day out and think. Meal out or set too when we arrive home. Nothing open ( no chef till 8 pm or 8.30 pm) yet if you are in France they have all gone home by then!

Similarly lunchtimes are different.

These people couldn’t find Andalucian food despite England having food from every corner of the planet. It is quite a narrow palate.

Around here it seems to be lomo, albondigas or fried fish and chips. The soups are usually very good, steaming broths and stews. Not sure what an Andalucian in Britain would expect to find. There seems to be a huge choice of food available in the UK, either eating out or in, and not just fast or junky food.
