Speeding fine
Speeding fine
My wife received a letter from Traffico today for the car registered in her name.
The speeding offence took place on 16th Jan. They send out letters quickly don't they?
Anyway it was probably me driving at the time.
I assume I pay the fine at Traffico in Malaga.
Is it a simple process?
I note that they ask for the driver to be named. What if my son, who lives in the UK and occasionally visits, had been driving at the time, would they chase him up in the UK?
Cheers
Gerry

so translated means...gerryh has clocked up a speeding fine and wants to know if he puts his son down as the driver at the time....will his son not get a fine as he is now in UK.??I note that they ask for the driver to be named. No I am not trying to get out of paying the fine.princess peach wrote: so you are looking for a way NOT to pay it Gerry h...is this what you want to know???

Surprised I haven't been clocked before.
Just curious as to what would happen if my son, who drives a lot faster than me, gets clocked when he is over here on holiday with us.
Cheers

The first question Gerry is if you accept it really was you (or your car). I got a speeding ticket out of the blue and when I worked out where the "offence" had taken place, somewhere outside Barcelona, I knew my car had never been near there so I challenged the ticket. It took them 7 months to reply and confirm they had made an error in reading the number plate from the camera. On that note I have noticed a new wave of roadside speed cameras being installed just in the last couple of weeks. With 1 May approaching and the new penal code it looks as though Trafico are making some new investments with hopes of huge returns. Also i think it is a "grave" offence not to declare who the driver was, which does make it a tad difficult if many people share the car and you really cannot work out who would have been driving at the time.
I paid the fine today. Could only be paid at a branch of Santander bank.
Got a 30% reduction for prompt payment.
Probably was me driving on that particular day/ time/ place.
I know I have been speeding on many occasions without being caught.
I think the form asks for the drivers name, the car is registered in my wife's name. The offence letter was in her name so I paid the fine in her name.
Cheers

I don't think there where any penalty points involved. I hope not anyway.
If there was then they will have been debited from her account.
Are there penalty points for driving at 96 KPH in a 80 KPH limit?
I drive far more than she does and it would be a big problem if I list my licence, only an inconvenience id she did.
Cheers
