...arrived !

Postby toyotadesigner » Wed May 21, 2008 9:44 am

Hi everybody,

just want to let you know that we've found a fantastic house in Burriana/Nerja by coincidence. Almost new, 200 m² living space plus 140 m² terrace and a separate roof terrace, garage in the basement, large windows, underfloor heating, fitted designer kitchen, insulated walls and windows, hughe pool and nice garden in the community. Very reasonable rent. Best of all: Telefónica delivered the line 4 days after I had called them, plus a 10 MB DSL line. Fantastic views to the Axarquia mountain range and the see, burriana beach just 800 meters away. No more schlepping of gas bottles - hurray!

Still waiting for the mudanza to deliver the furniture

We love it more every single day, enjoy the fast access to the Autovia, the almost perfect infrastructure of Nerja...

If anyone of you should be living in this area, we might meet somewhere sooner or later. And if you should spot me with my silver-blue Toyota offroader don't hesitate to say hello :D (the licence plate is now a Spanish one of course).

this post is like one of those annoying computer printed letters you used to get in christmas cards from a long lost cousin that just wants to tell you how well jazmin and turquouise are doing at school and they have just bought a new 4x4

I really have to apologize for this post. Yes, it's been generated with a computer, no doubt, but unfortunately it's not a xmas card.
from a long lost cousin

Until today I didn't know I had a cousin
that just wants to tell you how well jazmin and turquouise are doing at school

Sorry, I don't have children.
and they have just bought a new 4x4

Sorry, this offroader is 21 years old, far from being new or to impress someone.
if you want friends, get out a bit more
Sorry, we arrived here April 26th 2008 and already do have many friends and nice BRITISH and Spanish neighbors. If this is not enough for you, I can't help.

However, I'm glad that I don't need to live in a tourist infested and crowded pueblo at the costline being frustrated like you.

At least I think this post is positive and not one of the 'why I hate Spain' stuff.

Ahh, before I forget, I didn't mean that you have to say 'hello' - just ignore me, I can very well live with it.

But thank you very much to all the others here in this forum who helped me with contacts, tips & tricks.

And yes, we ENJOY every single minute here in Andalucía ! Viva !

Welcome. I remember the excitement when we first arrived; make it last. Nerja is a lovely little town. Enjoy!

No, you really don't have to apologise for the post! As you gathered, it's not you that has a problem. By the tone of all the other responses, everyone else is happy to hear that you've found what and where you want and that you're enjoying it. So thanks for telling us. (Even if I'm still very envious because we're not there yet)

I saw GerryH in Nerja one day and as you are the only 2 people on here that have posted your real-life photos, I may well spot you too! I was in Burriana only yesterday but as the parking was near impossible it may be my last visit until the autumn when it's nice and quiet

Hi Wicksey
Don't be lazy :D
Park in the large free parking area in Nerja and walk to Burriana.
We do it nearly every Sunday when we go to Ayo's for paella.

Welcome Toyotadesigner, nice to see someone else who dislikes shaving. :D

Ignore frog's comments, I usually don't bother reading or replying to his comments.

Cheers
Gerry

Great news to hear your getting settled (yes a twinge of jealousy coming through there...lol)
The house sounds wonderful.

Maybe you have found a long lost cousin, as I see there is a bit of a resemblance between you and Gerry.

well then i wish you luck, but from experience once the honeymoon period is over....
seen it so many times, just most people are to proud to admit it and put on a brave face

i like the bit about nice neighbours though, that never lasts

i dont need to live in a tourist infested and crowded pueblo(fuengirola a pueblo?),i just do and prefer that to being in the middle of nowhere
what makes you think i'm frustrated, have you seen my wife?

one real question then, are only positive posts allowed?
