I am definitely on Spanish time, breakfast intermittent, lunch at 2 and dinner around 9, but this is not that much different to the hours I observed back in the UK...even tho I am originally from oop north, that was London for you...

I was just thinking that a Spanish "all-day breakfast" would be churros and chocolate, or bread and olive oil.............maybe with a small fino or brandy!

Spanish way for us, but we ate late in the UK too.

Brekky at 8-9, depending on if it is a school day, lunch at 2-3, dinner always after 9, at the moment it's when it gets dark, as it's too hot to eat before, so more like 10. I feed the boys at 5.30-6 though as they go to bed at UK times (8-9), we like our grown-up time in the evenings.

'Tea' at 5.30, how quaint....I'm just not hungry that early and couldn't possibly go through a whole evening without dinner and a nice glass of wine.
Finally really and properly living in Andalucia.

There is a Spanish bar thats not too far from us that does a sausage and fried egg on a piece of bread tapa's. :D

Katy, there are a couple of Brit Bars in Baza who serve bacon butties etc.
but to be honest I don't go in them too often.

How do you all cope with cooking when its very hot? This I find hard to deal with, even boiling an egg brings me out in a sweat.
We are slowly getting used to having something light to eat at nightime (around 10pm), having had a Menu del Dia at around 2pm and then a siesta! and nibbles now and again until later.

One thing I have never been able to get used to is having my breakfast halfway through the morning like the Spaniards do. If I don't have my bowl of muesli, fruit juice and a cup of coffee when I get up I have gone off the idea by mid-morning.

That's second breakfast! Even in the UK when I worked on site we used to stop for "breakfast" at 10am...it's tradition...first breakfast having been at 6.30am because site work started at 7.30am.

Our times vary , in winter breakfast is around 9, 9 :30 but when the sun gets up earlier in summer so do we, and have breakfast around 8 or earlier. Large meal is mid day between 2-3 and something light about 8 pm before falling asleep in front of the box. The joys of getting older!

I am from NORTH yorkshire....so that was a great guess if you didnt know already.
No offence took,im just amazed at how you knew that just by me giving the times i ate..
No Princess, he knows you´re from the North (I´m a Lancashire lad, by the way) because you eat dinner and tea, rather than lunch and dinner. My wife´s from London and when we got together she lived in a permanent state of confusion because of our cultural differences

My wife comes from Yorky.

I still have great fun trying to understand what meal she's on about.

Breakfast 09:00 - 10:00 depending on wake up time.

I have Lunch (she has Dinner) at about 14:30 in summer in Spain. Maybe 13:00 in winter.

I have afternoon tea at 16:00 (a few gambas, or some olives or a little sandwich, pot of tea). I don't think she has a word for this (possibly snack).

I have dinner (she has tea) at about 21:00 in summer (once sun has set and the terrace begins to cool.) 19:30 in winter.

She has supper, a small snack, about an hour before bed. (I just have another tinto)

Ashtondav, you seem to be able to fit quite a few mealtimes in a day. Dinner at 21.00 and then supper, lunch at 14.30 and afternoon tea at 16.00.

We have breakfast around 0800-0830.

I have lunch and my husband has dinner at around 1300.

We both have tea around 1800.

And we may have supper before bed, but quite often not as we are sometimes in bed by 2130!

We're both Midlanders, so I don't know why he says dinner and I say lunch.

but Spanish Lad, I don´t think you really are! The Spanish go to work early and stop and have breakfast between 10 and 10.30 a.m.
I used to be indecisive but now I´m not so sure.
