Fifty sounds so old to me (I know it's not really but ... yuk ... can't get used to it yet), but glad to see there's many others on here around my age. My Dad was 90 this year and still driving (beware anyone living near Stockport!!) and I think age is all in the mind.
Wicksy I am suprised, after the comments on the Gloria Estephan thread I thought you must be a twenty something
Must have been full mooooooooon that day . I do have my mad moments ...... but perhaps it's just my age

Do I have to apply for my pension?
You can download the application form here

http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/pdf ... _print.pdf

You have to send in the birth and marriage certificates but they send them back pretty quickly.

They do seem to be very efficient. I received my first pension payment on time last month. They also sent the E121 forms without me asking for them.

I'm not telling you how old I am though :D

    Well at least my sense of humour is still sharp - I loved that clip - just got a bit cross at the ungrammatical words on the screen - but maybe that's my age:lol:
Rick, 60 is definitely the new 40 (or even 35?) I can vouch for that

I´m convinced I feel younger at 50 than, say. my father did and maybe that´s to do with the world moving on.

Does anyone have a view on this, and does the same apply to the different Spanish generations, or have they not "caught up" yet?

although I´m not far off 50 I really feel as if I´m still in my 20´s, and I get the impression here that I´m not alone in this, I´ve always treated my age as soemthing that only exists in my passport, and never worried about the years clicking on.

I agree Mijas. I don't know if it is because I am getting older myself, but I am sure older people nowadays are much younger for their age than they used to be .... if you see what I mean? I have numerous friends in their early 60s and I find it hard to believe they're not 10 years younger. My Mum looked about 65 when she was 45 - so old-fashioned!

If 60 is the new 40, does that make me the new 30 :?:

Funnily enough Wicksey, following your logic, I honestly wouldn´t want to be 31 again. I´m much happier now than I was then and much of that, I´m sure, is due to learning from life´s experiences. Had I lived here in Mijas at age 30, well that may have been different, but if there is such a thing as "the best time of your life", then this is it!!

Thanks Gerry, I do have a duplicate as my original one was lost in a fire some years ago, I was wondering if the authorities accept a duplicate in this instance, I have successfully aquired two passports on this duplicate so I guess it works.

I hope duplicates are accepted.
My wife safely put away our marriage certificate and birth certificates, so safe that we can't find them. :(
Duplicates have been applied for, I need them to get my pension.
Cheers

I agree actually, and I think my best age was late 30s. It was only in my late 40s that I felt I was ageing a bit and getting a bit saggier and wrinklier than before ....... oh, and my eyesight is going as well ..... But apart from that I still feel young 8)
