Re: Forum Upgrade
Whooooaaahhhh! It's a bit different!
Re: Forum Upgrade
Yes Willaim and Lee have just finished the software upgrade and the reformat. It will look different, especially for the frequent posting members. There are some usability issues we still will address over the next week or so. The spell check should be working. Fell free to post issues and problems in this section. Make a new thread for a different issue.

Re: Forum Upgrade
Very different but I like what I have seen. It's good to see more clearly the date a post started amongst other things. Well done, but I guess the proof of the pud.........

Re: Forum Upgrade
yes, I wondered that too, but decided that a.) the ones to the bottom left meant there was more than one page; and b.) the ones to the top right were ones I'd posted in.....
(edited cos I can't tell my right from my left !!)

Re: Forum Upgrade
No problems at all from me. I am quite happy with it. x
anyway, anyway, love from me.
Re: Forum Upgrade
I am sorry but it looks all messy to me and before it was all bold and easy to navigate around! Now it looks bland and I am afraid very UNINVITING!!!
Re: Forum Upgrade
I've just sent a private message which I found confusing compared to the previous method!

I'm sure some people will find the 'Friends and Foes' facility very handy!

Re: Forum Upgrade
First impressions? A bit bright and garish, but certainly clear, except that I now have to scroll sideways to read all of the personal data/smilies and the post made. It all fitted before and I am not changing my resolution setings for A.com!

Re: Forum Upgrade
That's odd because I have a blank white space about 3cm wide down each side of my screen when I am on the forum.

Re: Forum Upgrade
Sorry but my first impression is that it is a step back. For example I liked the envelope changing to orange and now we get a big black spot. Still can't complain at a free service which has been fantastic and very informative. Well done to the organisers and I look forward to discovering the improvements.

Further to my comment about 'Friends and Foes', the 'Report this post' facility should also prove popular!

Re: Forum Upgrade
Visually it's not as clear but that simply might be familiarity. I DO like the black circles on the left indicating new posts but I too, have HUGE areas of white space on my screen with the new site taking up only half my screen; 23cms across out of 44cms available. Should I be clicking on something to make the site "fit to screen"?
The smilies are nice but as I've never worked out how to use the old ones the new ones will also remaim unused by me. Shame.
