Dentists

Postby tjtops » Wed Oct 01, 2008 10:49 am

Can anyone please recommend a really good but reasonably-priced dentist in AEG area, for semi-cosmetic work (crowns etc)......and one who isn't going to terrify me??
(Been hiding my head -- or should it be teeth -- in the sand for around 5 years so probably lots of more mundane stuff needs doing as well and guess who hasn't got any health insurance!!)

I am the biggest coward when it comes to Dentists; I can thoroughly recommend Clinica Europa Dental in AEG, over Sol Bank, second floor. Dr Kerstin Brorson is the lady I see, she is very gentle, the clinic is modern and the rates are reasonable. She is there on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, her husband, Dr Lars Brorson does the other two days. Check the website: http://www.europadental.com .

We use the dentist up the hill opposite Bar Rosa [now closed] she is Dr Ruiz's wife. No problems at all. 300 yards on the left just below Glorias Bar.
DONT even consider the indian dentist out by Hotel Kaddamper he is struck off in UK and was on Dentist from Hell programme. One of his patients had to spend up to one hundred thousand pounds to repair his inept dental procedures.

Spanish Lad,

He is not cheap and the reason why he still practices is that he has certificates from all over the place including the famous 'Bombay Certificate' therefore the Spanish Officials allow him to practice. I am sure they do not know about his British escapades.
Again DO NOT GO THERE

Presumably the dentist near the Hotel Kadampa is the same one that has a half page advertisement in one of those tacky rural expat magazines!

I go to Dr Kirsten too. She is the best dentist I have ever been to. She even beats my best dentist in England and I was with him for 20 years!

Beach, yes he is the one with the flash ad in most of the freebie magazines.
This dentist of asian origin [rhymes with nappie!!] has a very hightec surgery. My wife went to see him about 4 years ago and as a initial consultation she inferred that she wanted bridging work. He however was most insistent tha she would be better off with pegs [screw in teeth] and the cost was mind blowing. We paid for the initial consultation and did not return. My wifes mouth was sore for a number of days.
A friend of ours went to see him and recognised him half way through the treatment and he threw her out there and then.
He is accompanied by his wife, also of asian origin and started practising in Huyton, Liverpool and as you can see Ken Dodd was a patient!!!!!!!! [his teeth stick out so much his nose thinks its playing a piano!]
I actually contacted the Dental Council in the UK and they sent me his history, offences and punishments. He was such a bad dentist, Central TV, did a 30 Minute Special on this man and his dangerous practices. This was about 6 or 7 years ago.
Oh well, happy days Im off to see a chiropodist!!!!!!! Watch this space....................

WELL!!! For the benefit of all those who were kind enough to make recommendations.....gulp...I have just come back from Dr Kerstin and I have to say she was absolutely brilliant. Not only did she work a minor miracle (yes, really!) but she was soooooooooo understanding, didn't try and make more money out of me and in fact diddled herself out of a considerable amount by NOT recommending more expensive treatment. She was gentle, kind and efficient and I cannot recommend her highly enough! Phew. At last!

Well done you. :) I am so glad that it went well and that Dr. Kirsten lived up to her reputation.

She might find herself with even more patients after all this!
