Re: Aqua fuerte
Agua Fuerte is Hydrochloric acid. Also called Spirits of Salts or Muriatic acid.
Disolvente means a solvent. The most common type in Spain is Disolvente Universal which is a mixture of solvents usually containing Toluene and Methanol. I'm not sure if there is a true equivalent in the UK - it's probably classed as too dangerous and someone would drink it!

Re: Aqua fuerte
Toluene is a carcinogen, hence not generally available in the UK. If you do get some in Spain, keep it off your skin. (It won't have any immediate effects - apart from possible dermatitus with prolonged use, but long-term exposure won';t do you any good.) Use plastic gloves.

Well it obviously wasn't water resistant!george7070 wrote:thankyou i have been arguing with my husband about this my children ended up with bad sunburn it stripped the sunfactor 50+ off their skin it was water resistant.
Putting AF in the pool just balances the acidity. If the pool was alkaline then it is chemically possible for it to dissolve the oil that makes the cream water resistant (just like soap in a shower!) but it would need to be dangerously alkaline to do that.
If the pool was acid because of too much AF then it would have the opposite effect and not affect the oil in the sun cream at all.
Try a different sun cream!

I've been using AF in our pool for years.blocked drains?? throw a bottle down it cement on tiles? little bit on it. need to clean a white pool surround?? watered down in a watering can and hosed off after 5 min.. shiney white again
An interesting point by spanish-lad regarding "white pool surround". Our surround used to be white! I'd like to give it a try but not sure of the water mix ratio. Any ideas?
Thanks
